MARIGOLD
Quinten Kusters (Marigold) is one of the 3 original creators of Gecko Court. Now the CEO and Lead A&R, his role includes overseeing all operations and relations regarding Gecko Court.
Born into a family of musicians, including a brother who is a DJ, a mother who is a church singer and an uncle who is in a band, music has always been the heart and soul for Marigold. Marigold came to London in 2020 with a mission to impact the music scene through Cinema. Graduating in 2023 with a degree in Practical Filmmaking, he was now a freelancer in film during the day, and a bartender during the evening, with the occasional DJing small clubs weeknights.
In 2023, Marigold made the decision to take his project Gecko Court (which had been in development since 2018), and put all of his energy into it. Gecko Court LTD was officially established, and legally able to trade and distribute music. The first few artists jumped on to the now official project to release music with great enthusiasm but also a passion to work together, and no concern about the outcome.
Throughout this time, Marigold also worked on his YouTube channel, reaching thousands, and learning from other music industry professionals and partners like Beatport. He ascertained that the individual may have talent, passion or drive, but a group or community of talented individuals, drive the whole conversation.
When Marigold signs a new artist, he prioritises communication and alignment over anything else. His belief is that when two involved parties eventually agree on a common objective, it will be delivered beyond expectation.
